Keely was the 2017 winner of the Cassian Elwes Independent Screenwriting Fellowship and a semi-finalist in the 2018 Women in Film | Black List Features Lab. Her edgy romantic comedy, PLAIN JANE, was featured on the Black List and the Popcorn Talk Network’s vodast The Unproduced Table Read, was the featured script for the SAG-AFTRA | IFP Chicago quarterly table read, and was selected for the Pitch at Industry Days at the Chicago International Film Festival. Keely earned a BA in English with a minor in Political Science from Indiana University, a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and an MFA in Screenwriting from DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts. Keely practiced intellectual property law in Chicago for thirteen years before joining DePaul's School of Cinematic Arts as an adjunct professor of screenwriting in 2017. Keely is currently developing PLAIN JANE and several additional feature film projects.
