Bachelor's Degree Applicants

If you are applying for a bachelor’s degree, please review the How to Apply page on International Admission’s website.

Graduate Degree Applicants

A graduate applicant is a student who has completed at least a bachelor's degree or an equivalent higher education degree, and is interested in applying for a master's or a PhD program. You are considered an international graduate applicant if you have earned a bachelor’s degree outside of the U.S.

Prospective graduate students who are interested in learning more about our programs can register for events, including on-campus or online information sessions or a visit to campus, and schedule an appointment with an admission officer. We also encourage prospective students to watch video tours highlighting some of CDM's facilities.

Each academic program has different application documentation requirements and available entry terms. Review the documentation requirements and application deadlines by academic program on the Graduate Program Admission Requirements page.

*Due to United States laws, DePaul University cannot provide on-line courses to citizens of Cuba and Iran who reside in their countries. The University remains committed to helping these students find other learning opportunities at DePaul. If you are interested, please contact our admission office.

Applicants with International Credentials

Applicants with International Credentials

In addition to a program’s specific admission requirements, applicants with international credentials may be required to submit additional documentation as part of the application.

To apply to the master’s programs in the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media, applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Applicants with international university credit (regardless of the amount of credit earned or grades) are required to submit a course-by-course evaluation. As part of the application review process, DePaul University conducts a free course-by-course transcript evaluation for coursework completed outside of the U.S. These evaluations can be used for DePaul admission purposes only. If you would like to take advantage of this service, you will need to upload complete academic documents for all post-secondary levels of study at the time of application. These should be in original language with English translation (as needed). If you choose to "opt out" of DePaul's credential evaluation, you will need to provide your own course-by-course credential evaluation from one of the companies listed on the Transcript Evaluation page.

For general guidelines on common degrees equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s, review the International Degree Equivalencies below. Additionally, you will find English proficiency requirements by country.

It is important to note, that the list of equivalencies below is not complete, but rather it represents the most common credentials equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from each country. Please note, that the course-by-course evaluation will be used to verify that the degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
