Bio and Research Information

Dr. Hiral Soni is a Senior Research Associate at Doxy.me Inc., specializing in health information technology, telemedicine, and user experience research. With 10+ years of experience in informatics research, she has contributed to innovations in consumer health, digital health, electronic health records, and patient safety. At Doxy.me Inc., she leads research on developing secure, patient- and provider-centered telemedicine solutions, with a focus on telemedicine workflows, AI-driven informed consent, and health data collection chatbots. She combines scholarly and product research expertise, excelling in agile industry research, product development, and commercialization. Her doctoral research focused on the development of a granular sensitive data sharing consent engine - My Data Choices, to support physical and behavioral health records release for care and research purposes. She developed novel informatics approaches to understand data sensitivity perceptions of patients with behavioral health conditions. Her work was the first to employ electronic medical records from Arizona’s statewide health information exchange in research. She holds a Master Certificate in User Experience from the Neilson Norman Group. Dr. Soni has served as a Site-PI/CO-I on multiple federally funded health IT projects. With her background in consumer health informatics, mobile health, and UX research, she continues to drive innovation in digital healthcare and telemedicine.
