Dr. Dai-Hai Ton-That is a research scientist at The Earth System Science Center (ESSC) in The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and adjunct faculty of the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) at DePaul University at DePaul University. His current research interests focus on the application of novel big data, data computational and spatio-temporal database approaches to the storage, format, processing, discovery, analysis and visualization of Earth Observation Data. Dr. Ton-That believes those novel and advanced technologies have paved the way for efficiently handling Big Earth Observation Data and effectively support Scientists in extracting the insights from their huge datasets. Dr. Ton-That obtained his PhD in Computer Science at The University of Paris-Saclay, Paris, France in 2016. He did one-year postdoc research at the CEA-LIST research institute, CEA-Saclay, Paris, France before joining the College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) at DePaul University as his second postdoc for three years. Dr. Ton-That is serving as a chair of the IEEE GRSS ESI Databases in Remote Sensing Working Groups and a Guest Editor in IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing (IEEE JSTARS).
