Bio and Research Information

Noelle Thomas is a distinguished production and set designer with a diverse portfolio spanning film, television, opera, and theater. Renowned for her creative vision and meticulous attention to detail, Noelle’s work has captivated audiences around the world. Her versatile body of work includes episodic network television, streaming series, commercials, and indie films, showcasing her ability to adapt her design expertise to a wide range of media. In addition to her professional achievements, Noelle is passionately committed to education. With over a decade of teaching experience, she has inspired and mentored students in various aspects of entertainment design. In the classroom, Noelle leverages her extensive industry knowledge to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment. She fosters creativity while emphasizing the high standards required in the professional world, ensuring her students are well-prepared to excel in the demanding field of production design. Noelle’s professional experience in Production Design and Set Design includes credits on "CHICAGO MED" Seasons 8 and 9 for NBC Universal, with Season 8 earning the 2022 ReFrame Stamp. She also contributed to the 2024 Emmy-nominated Season 3 and the Peabody Award-winning Season 2 of "RESERVATION DOGS" on FX and Hulu, which also received two Independent Spirit Awards. Other notable projects include the short films "STRONGHOLD" for Tuesday Films and "TENSILE STRENGTH OF AIR" for Liminal Films. Additional credits include "NIGHT SKY" Season 1 for Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, "SOUTH SIDE" Season 3 on HBO MAX, "EMPIRE" Season 6 for 20th Century Fox Television, the stop-motion animated short "MERRY CHRISTMAS DE PAUL" for Project Bluelight and contributions to "FARGO: KANSAS CITY" Season 4 on FX. Noelle’s commercial design work includes projects for Barstool Sports, IKEA, and Accenture. Beyond her work in film and television, Noelle has designed numerous opera and theater productions. Her talent in theatrical scenic design has been recognized with a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for Best Scenic Design for "AWAKE AND SING." Noelle holds an MFA in Stage Design from Northwestern University’s School of Communication and a BFA in Scenic Design from The Theatre School at DePaul University.
