Stephanie Besser is an Adjunct Faculty member of the School of Computing, College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University, Chicago, Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign iSchool, and as a Sr. Data Analyst at Massachusetts General Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Cardiovascular Medicine Division, Harvard Medical School. Previously, she worked at The University of Chicago as a Biostatistician II for the Department of Medicine-Section of Cardiology, where she assists doctors, fellows, and residents with clinical research. Previously, Stephanie worked in Chicago at Nielsen, a marketing research firm, as a Sr. Statistician, and at Navigant, a consulting firm, as a Consultant in Disputes and Investigations, where she assisted with data breaches and litigation support. Her research interests are in statistics, data analysis, and machine learning. Stephanie has completed a M.S. in Predictive Analytics - Computational Methods Concentration and Image Analysis Specialization from DePaul University, as well as a M.S. in Applied Statistics and a M.A. in Criminal Justice and Criminology from Loyola University Chicago. She also has a M.S. in Accountancy, a B.S.B.A. in Accountancy, a B.A. in English with a Humanities Minor, and a B.A. in Sociology with a Criminology Concentration from John Carroll University.
