DePaul's Premiere Film Showcase
Premiere is the annual student film showcase hosted by DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts. Now in its 20th year, the screening celebrates the best films made by DePaul's students in fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, and music video. At the awards show after the screening, the programmers hand out over 20 awards covering all facets of filmmaking from screenwriting to post-production (all DePaul-made films submitted are eligible for the awards). A jury comprised of industry insiders, festival programmers, and filmmakers from around the country is also present for the screening and selects the very special Jury Award by the end of the night. Held in the historic Music Box Theatre, the festival provides an opportunity for student work to be showcased in one of the oldest, most celebrated theaters in the nation.
This year’s Premiere Film Showcase date coming soon. Learn more and see 2025's program and award winners.
