About DePaul Cinespace Studios

DePaul’s School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) distinguished itself from all other film programs in the United States when it formed its alliance with Cinespace Chicago Film Studios in 2013, creating DePaul Cinespace Studios. Recently expanded to nearly 60,000-square-feet, this professional production facility is located within Chicago’s booming center for feature film and television production.

At DePaul Cinespace Studios, SCA students learn filmmaking crafts and techniques from highly accomplished faculty and staff on industry-standard equipment mere steps away from high-profile network productions filming on the Cinespace Chicago Film Studios lot. Both SCA students and alumni have found opportunities working on hit television shows including Comedy Central’s South Side; Fox’s Empire; FX’s Fargo; HBO’s Lovecraft Country; NBC’s Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago PD; and Showtime’s Shameless and The Chi.

In addition to six shooting stages, a green screen cyclorama, and high-end equipment checkout, DePaul Cinespace Studios also has a Scene Shop, dressing rooms with hair and makeup stations, editing suites, classroom/collaboration areas, and ample storage and work areas to support any project.

CDM provides shuttle service between DePaul Cinespace Studios and both the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses for students, faculty, and staff. The schedule is updated quarterly and can be found below.

The CDM Loop bus stop is located in front of the Barnes & Noble at the DePaul Center (1 E. Jackson Blvd.). The Lincoln Park bus stop is located in front of the Student Center, on the corner of Belden and Sheffield (please note that, due to being in a high traffic area, the shuttle might be parked in Lot H behind the DePaul Student Center). Please arrive at the stop at least 10 minutes early.

Students, staff, and faculty are all invited to ride the shuttle; however, priority seating will be given to those enrolled in classes at DePaul Cinespace Studios or on tours.
