Bio and Research Information

Benjamin Stephen has over a decade of experience developing and producing unscripted television, documentaries, and independent films. He recently served as the Director of Content Development at Asylum Entertainment Group (now Pantheon Media Group), guiding unscripted true crime, history, music, food, pop culture and competition series in development with networks like Discovery, History, and Peacock. From 2017 - 2022, as an executive and producer in Pulse Films' Non-Fiction department, he produced two seasons of the ViceTV docuseries BETRAYING THE BADGE, documentaries TOO SOON: COMEDY AFTER 9/11 and COLLEGE SPORTS, INC. and true crime special THE CASE DIED WITH HER for Oxygen. Also during his tenure at Pulse Films, Stephen managed a slate of unscripted series and documentaries including STAY ON BOARD: THE LEO BAKER STORY (Netflix) and a.k.a. MR CHOW (HBO). Prior to 2017, Stephen was a Segment Producer on Netflix variety show BILL NYE SAVES THE WORLD and worked as an Associate Producer on unscripted TV series for industry leaders like Kinetic Content, Renegade83 and Oprah Winfrey Network. He first got his start in the entertainment industry as the Development Assistant at Kinetic Content in 2013. Stephen's first narrative feature film work as a producer, SHATTERED ICE, a sports drama starring Charlie Gillespie and directed by Alex Ranarivelo, was inspired by his and writer Jake Miskin's experience growing up in their Massachusetts hometown. SHATTERED ICE received its World Premiere at the Sedona International Film Festival in February 2025 and won the festival's Most Impactful Film Award. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Film Studies Minor. He graduated from Dickinson College in 2012.
