Dr. Poornima Nookala joined DePaul University in 2024, bringing a wealth of experience from both academia and industry. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and has over 10 years of industry experience. Her research interests span parallel programming models, runtime systems for extreme-scale supercomputing, computer architecture, cloud computing, data-intensive computing, and big-data sciences. Dr. Nookala is specifically interested in bridging the gap between software and hardware layers to enhance both functionality and performance. She is dedicated to fostering an engaging learning environment where students can thrive and grow together.
