Don Yanek is a veteran Computer Science teacher and instructional coach. He is a founding member and former President of the Chicago Chapter of the Computer Science Teachers Association and a member of the leadership team for the National Science Foundation funded research practitioner partnership, the Chicago Alliance for Equity in Computer Science (CAFÉCS). Additionally, Don is a national Exploring Computer Science PD facilitator and an advisor to CS for Oregon. He is also the proud recipient of a National Center for Women & Information Technology Educator Award.
In his spare time, Don enjoys spending time with his family, collecting vinyl records, cooking, and playing drums for the indie band The Purcells.
