Jamshid Sourati obtained his Ph.D. from Northeastern University, where his focus was developing active learning algorithms for building cost-efficient machine learning models. Since then, he has continuously applied his ML skill on a wide variety of applications. Before joining DePaul University, he has been a post-doctoral scholar at the Sociology Department of the University of Chicago, applying learning-based tools to model the flow of collective knowledge in social processes. Prior to that, he worked in Computational Radiology Lab at Harvard Medical School, where he worked as machine learning scientist on medical image processing applications.
His main research interests revolve around developing and deploying machine learning and AI techniques to model and analyze the flow of knowledge and discoveries in science and technology.
