International Admission

Applicants with International Credentials

In addition to a program’s specific admission requirements, applicants with international credentials may be required to submit additional documentation as part of the application.  

To apply to the master’s programs in the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media, applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.  

Applicants with international university credit (regardless of the amount of credit earned or grades) are required to submit a course-by-course evaluation. As part of the application review process, DePaul University conducts a free course-by-course transcript evaluation for coursework completed outside of the U.S. These evaluations can be used for DePaul admission purposes only. If you would like to take advantage of this service, you will need to upload complete academic documents for all post-secondary levels of study at the time of application. These should be in original language with English translation (as needed). If you choose to "opt out" of DePaul's credential evaluation, you will need to provide your own course-by-course credential evaluation from one of the companies listed on the Transcript Evaluation page.

It is important to note, that the list of equivalencies below is not complete, but rather it represents the most common credentials equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree from each country. Please note, that the course-by-course evaluation will be used to verify that the degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.  

General Application Process

1. Apply. Submit an application and application fee ($25 application fee for domestic applicants, $75 for international applicants).
2. Submit Course-by-Course Evaluation for International University Transcripts (if applicable).
3. Submit Official U.S. Accredited College/University Transcripts (if applicable).

   Submit official transcripts from all college and universities attended. Please note that if you are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree, you will be required to submit a final transcript showing degree conferral. U.S. college and university transcripts must be sent directly to CDM Graduate Admissions from the college or university. We do not accept transcripts sent to us from applicants.  

   We highly recommend sending your transcripts electronically. Electronic delivery is preferred by the Graduate Admission Office, and it will expedite the application process.  

   • Transcripts must be sent from the institution directly to the Graduate Admission Office. Official transcripts can be sent electronically to admission@cdm.depaul.edu as long as they come from the institution of record.

   If you are unable to send your transcripts electronically, you can then mail the official transcripts in a sealed envelope to:

   • DePaul alumni/undergraduate students applying for graduate admission must also submit a DePaul transcript. Request a free electronic transcript.
4. Submit Proof of English proficiency (if applicable)
5. Required Application Documentation by Academic Program

   Submit required application documents as part of the the Graduate Program Admission Requirements.  

6. Optional Materials for Consideration

   The following items are not required for this program but can be used to supplement your application:  

   • Professional experience as evidenced by resume or industry certifications
   • Letters of recommendation
   • Statement of purpose
